Why Should I Have a Welcome At My Wedding? Who Gives My Wedding Welcome Speech?
Hi I’m Jim Cerone The Perfect Host with your One Minute Wedding Tips.
When your wedding reception begins, it’s nice to have someone officially welcome your guests. This could be your parents, a grandparent, or you and your new spouse could take the microphone.
It’s a great way to quickly thank everyone for coming. You can also specifically thank the people who helped you put the celebration together. You can recognize VIPs in the crowd, or point out the people who traveled the farthest.
Whoever speaks, it’s best if the welcome is short – 2 to 4 minutes - because dinner is waiting, everyone’s hungry and you want your food served hot and fresh.
Basically, your welcome just says – “We’re so glad you’re here – thanks for coming and have a great time!”
