Couples like Erica & Drew remind me why I love my job as a Wedding DJ so much. Their wedding reception was incredibly personal, warm and friendly and F-U-N! When I first met them, I knew tonight was going to be very special. After meeting their parents, families and friends, I can say I was honored to be included as their entertainer. What a night!
In our meetings, Erica, Drew and I worked together planning a surprise for their guests. Their first dance started with "The Day Before You" by Rascal Flatts. But then the two of them broke into an unbelievable swing dance as I mixed in their request for "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" from Bette Midler. The crowd applauded forever!
The highlights didn't end there. After the bouquet and garter toss, Drew was in for a surprise of his own. His new wife, Erica and all her friends broke into a dance routine they've been practicing for weeks (I was in on this one, too). All the guests surrounded the floor and cheered them on. It was an amazing moment.
Jenny Oden and her staff at the Montage were outstanding, as usual. Photographer Rocky Rothrock is always a pleasure to work with (and our sons play baseball together!). I enjoyed meeting and working with videographer "Mighty" Mike Chandler and his wife Lori as well.
As a perfect ending to this perfect night, Drew & Erica raced to their limousine through a parade of sparklers, headed off to their honeymoon and a lifetime of happiness.
